leading light rehab

our philosophy

The philosophy of our rehabilitation centre is simple: we think you deserve an oasis on your journey to recovery. A place you can turn to, where every moment is designed to allow you to get well, and stay well.

It may seem like a simple statement, but it upholds the intent of Leading Light Rehab. Having a place where every appointment feels like progress, we provide the support required for your recovery in a holistic, comprehensive way. We invite you to lead your best life, not only for the present, but for what is to come. We are committed to making you feel well in any way that aligns with you.

This space was initially created because there of the gap in accessible and supportive cancer recovery and post-operative care in our community. The robotic Laser application implemented through the OncoLaser Therapy Approach, at Leading Light Rehab, we are here to support all patients experiencing any form of pain – oncology related, musculoskeletal and wound healing. The care we provide is evidence based, cutting edge and modern and address the needs that have often been overlooked.

Our focused team works collaboratively with referring practitioners, and with advanced technology and tailored treatment plans. Your journey to recovery will take place in a space that is your oasis.

Capability statement

Who we see

We welcome every person to Leading Light Rehab, for the wide variety of symptoms that can be treated by MLS®  Laser application.

For those with Private Health Insurance, we can facilitate physiotherapy claims through HICAPS when completing your appointments. To claim Medicare Rebates, we will require a signed referral citing a Chronic Condition Management Plan from your GP. We support our Australian Veterans by having our clinicians on the DVA registered provider list.

The only absolute contraindication for MLS® Laser Therapy is the irradiation of the eyes and the surrounding areas as the laser light can cause serious damage to these structures. To protect both patients and operators, the supplied laser protective goggles must be worn during treatment.

Laser application is practiced with caution over growth plates in children and adolescents, and over the abdomen during pregnancy. Though the laser works with infrared light invisible to the eye, it operates with an LED indicator during laser use, so some caution should also be applied for clients who are susceptible to epileptic attacks triggered by light. It is best to consult with the attending practitioner to assess the suitability of the laser according to the nature of the patient’s condition.
